Scenario: Can Admins delegate course and learning path creation as well as assignments to Coordinators to manage their own teams?

Transcription:

(00:00): Hello and welcome to eLeaP. In this quick tutorial, we’re going to explore the coordinator role. Let’s dive right in by heading over to the ‘Users’ tab and clicking on ‘Add a New User’. For this demonstration, I’ve already set up a coordinator, which I’ll show you. As a coordinator, when you access the ‘User Groups’ section and go to ‘User Group Settings’, you can add supervisors, managers, and coordinators.

(00:58) The coordinator role is designed to allow users to create training courses, learning paths, and manage assigned users within managed user groups. It’s akin to a manager but with the added capability to create educational content.

(01:02) Let’s look at what this role entails from the perspective of a coordinator. Here I am logged in as a coordinator, and if I navigate to my ‘Courses’ tab, I have the option to add or edit courses. For instance, I can select an existing course and edit it, adding quizzes, lessons, and other components just like an instructor would.

(01:51) When it comes to assignments, a coordinator can assign courses only to individual users within their managed groups. This setup allows you as an admin to delegate responsibilities while maintaining control over who is managed and trained by whom. The same delegation applies to user groups; coordinators can only assign training to groups they manage.

(02:58) Additionally, if I move to the ‘Learning Paths’ area, I can create and manage learning paths. Here, for example, I’ll create a simple learning path named ‘Communication’, add courses to it, activate it, and then assign it to my users.

Finally, the coordinator can also manage skills and OJT records for users they manage, which enhances their ability to support specific training and development needs within their oversight.

This role is incredibly beneficial for organizations looking to empower mid-level managers with the ability to directly impact training without waiting for courses to be created or assigned by higher-ups. It fosters a more dynamic and responsive training environment within eLeaP.
